New ECOfleet Payment Rates for Verified Fuel Savings
We are pleased to announce revised ECOfleet payment rates to better reflect the complexity and quality of data reported by participating fleet operators. These updated rates are designed to reward higher levels of reporting that align with international standards and support more accurate climate reporting.
Updated Base Rate
The standard payment rate is now €20,000 per 100,000 litres of diesel saved. This is a doubling of the previous rate paid. Starts 1st Jan 2025.
Multi-Fuel Reporting Bonus
For fleets using a combination of fuels (e.g. diesel and gas, or diesel, gas and electric), a multi-fuel upload option is available. This allows reporting in kWh/100km, with a payment of €40,000 per 100,000L fuel-equivalent saved.
To qualify:
- You must report all fuel types in use (diesel, gases, electric).
- Kilometres travelled must also be included.
- Savings will be calculated based on fleetwide performance in kWh/100km.
Advanced Reporting: Tonne.Km
For fleets able to report both payload data in Tonne.Km or Passenger.Km and energy use in kWh, the rate rises to €60,000 per 100,000L-equivalent saved, based on kWh/Tonne.Km and/or kWh/Passenger.Km
Please note:
- Tonne-Km reporting is highly demanding and typically feasible only for a small number of fleets.
- It must be evidenced and may be derived from other metrics such as hectolitres or passenger movement, using agreed conversion factors.
- As Tonne.Km (or Passenger.Km) is increasingly required under CountEmissionsEU (ISO14083 & GLEC) and for corporate climate disclosures (CSRD), this higher rate reflects the importance and complexity of this level of reporting.
